Three weights of Lucida Grande: Normal, Bold, and Black, in three styles: Roman, Italic, and Oblique, were developed by Bigelow & Holmes. Like Sans Unicode, Grande supports the most commonly used characters defined in version 2.0 of the Unicode standard.

Scripting on this page enhances content navigation, but does not change the content in any way. AFAIK, the typeface Lucida Sans Unicode consists of only one font/style. The typeface looks very similar to Lucida Sans and Lucida Sans Unicode. Customize your own preview on to make sure its the right one for your designs.

The fonts are installed in the Java SE Runtime Environment's lib/fonts directory as the following files (not all of them may be present): The Lucida Sans Unicode font contains 1776 beautifully designed characters. See the JDK 9 and JRE 9 Supported Locales page. There is also another version, with no font specified, that you can use to test fonts.

Note that of the writing systems that are generally fully supported by the JRE, the Lucida fonts do not support Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, and Korean. The style sheet in the head of this document specifies the font Arial MS Unicode, or failing that Lucida Sans Unicode.
